El circo por Smiljan Radic





Junto a Mathias Klotz, Alejandro Aravena, Pezo von Ellrichshausen, Sebastián Irarrázabal o Cecilia Puga, Smiljan Radic (Santiago de Chile, 1965) es uno de los más interesantes exponentes de la nueva generación de arquitectos chilenos. A pesar de que su trabajo se desarrolla en un país aparentemente alejado del mundo, su obra se enfrenta a idénticos temas contemporáneos que otros arquitectos del Primer Mundo: el uso de las nuevas técnicas y nuevos materiales, la relación con el lugar o la preocupación sobre lo ordinario introduciendo valores locales que producen nuevas inusuales cualidades sensibles en sus edificios. La delicadeza de sus pequeñas obras, en las que trabaja tanto a escala del detalle como con temas más generales, hace que su obra ocupe un lugar propio y personal entre la arquitectura chilena actual.





Dos textos introductorios de Alberto Sato y Patricio Mardones nos ayudan a contextualizar su obra en el marco de su país, y con el texto escrito por el arquitecto para la sección nexus, 'El circo', logramos comprender algunos de sus pensamientos y preocupaciones arquitectónicas.
