KIGI is a graphic design studio based in Tokyo, Japan, formed by the collaboration of Yoshie Watanabe and Ryosuke Uehara. The pair is noted for its exceptional creative sensibility and a markedly humane artistic conscience. In their work, they often combine design and illustration, producing items and product lines for various clients that reflect an approach that is both tactile and imaginative. This volume features their graphic design work, and begins with an interview outlining the specialised role each designer takes in their approach. Watanabe does the illustration, and Uehara takes charge of the concept and typography, but both listen to the other’s opinion in all aspects.
